How to put pdf downloads on squarespace

The new window should open up as a new tab next to the website page that is already open, so yes, they could close that tab or leave it open and click back into the website. That is my goal. Any advice? I would consider uploading them as a zip file. I'll check it out. I also saw and tried some options with iframe but I was not able to make it work. Im not familiar with it either.
